Javier A. Maymir became the Acting Executive Director of the New York City Federal Executive Board August 20, 2017. Prior to this role, Mr. Maymir was the Assistant District Counsel for the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s (OCC) Southern District Office in Dallas, Texas, where he managed a staff of attorneys and handled the legal assignments in various field offices. He continues to review cases and make himself available as the need arises.

Mr. Maymir was the District Counsel for the Midwestern District for almost 5 years prior to the agency restructure which resulted in the closure of the district office in Kansas City, Missouri.

He began his career with the OCC working as a staff attorney in the Securities and Corporate Practices division in Washington, D.C.  He also spent 4 years working in the Enforcement and Compliance Division and an additional four years as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Chief Counsel.  Prior to accepting the position as Midwest District Counsel, he worked for two years as a Senior Attorney in the OCC’s former Southeastern District Office in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to his other work, Mr. Maymir also gives presentations before banking groups and counsels on various issues of banking law and emerging areas as well as leadership courses for OCC staff.
